Coach and Manager Development

Coaches and managers are an integral part of Sacred Heart Girls’ College Sport Programme.  The College recognises that without our volunteer coaches and managers many of our students would not be involved in sport at the College.

One of our ways of showing our appreciation to our coaches and managers is to provide regular coaching development opportunities at the College throughout the year.  We also link up with Sport Waikato and other Sporting Associations to offer our coaches and managers opportunities to attend courses outside of the College.

2010 Coach and Manager Development Opportunities at SHGC:

Term One

• Thursday 11 March   SMART Coach, 6.30-9.00pm in PE room

A generic coaching course for all beginner/intermediate coaches of all codes. Delivered by WILSS

• Tuesday 6 April        Coaches & Managers Information Evening, 6-7 pm in PE Room.
  
  For all new coaches and managers of all winter sporting codes.

• Tuesday 27 April          Strapping Course, 6-7 pm in PE Room.
  
  For all coaches and managers of all sporting codes
  
  
• Tuesday 25 May          Teaching Games for Understanding (TGFU),  6pm – 8pm

A hands on course for coaches of all codes and levels looking at how to use games to teach skills and tactics. Delivered by WILSS
