Mrs Raeburne Bourke is the Director of International Students and is the main point of contact for you before and during the application process.

Mrs Bourke regularly visits current and prospective students and their families in their home countries.

SPECIAL NOTE:-

Payment for your second year is just Tuition, Insurance and Education Outside the Classroom.

Some subjects may incur material costs.

Pastoral Care
Sacred Heart Girls’ College, together with its brother school, St John’s College, is the joint winner of the International Education Excellence Award from the New Zealand Government. This recognizes the high standard of pastoral care given to International Students and was presented by the Minister of Education at the Education New Zealand National Conference.

Sacred Heart Girls’ College is a signatory to the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students, copies of which are available from the school or from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website www.minedu.govt.nz.

Guardianship

The school requires each student to have a local guardian see documentation. There may be a fee charged by the guardian directly to the parent. The college does not charge the fee. Fees are approximately $500 per term depending on the circumstances.

ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
FOR
INTERNATIONAL FEE-PAYING STUDENTS

The following living accommodation options are available to you:

A.        Live with parent(s)

B.        Live with Designated Caregiver

C.        Live in a homestay

D.        Living with parent(s)
            For this option parent(s) has/have total responsibility for the student.

E.         Living with Designated Caregiver:-

For this option the Statement of Designated Caregiver Arrangements must be completed and signed. The home will be visited prior to any student placement. A checklist will be completed to confirm suitability and normal police vetting procedures will apply. Communication links will be established.

F.        Living in a Homestay
It is desirable for an International Student to live in a ‘kiwi’ homestay. This option has shown to be extremely helpful in assisting English language development. The cost is $NZ220 per week for full board. The full cost for the 46 week school year is $NZ10120. This information is outlined in the International Students Information Booklet.

The $100 application fee will be added to the Invoice for fees.

Where possible the student is interviewed and her English language level is assessed before the application is processed.

If the application is successful, Sacred Heart Girls’ College gives an offer of placement document and an invoice for fees.

A Guardian is selected by parents and confirmed by Sacred Heart Girls’ College.

Medical and Travel Insurance is organized.

All relevant documentation is signed.

Fees are paid.

Academic subject choice is discussed.

Accommodation is arranged.

The student arranges visa which requires the offer of place and the receipt for school fees.
