Our Chanel Shield Team upheld the mana of our College in Gisborne last weekend. The Chanel Shield is a competition in oratory, scripture reading, debating and drama between the five Catholic secondary schools in the Hamilton diocese: Aquinas College (Tauranga), Campion College (Gisborne) John Paul College (Rotorua), St John’s College, Hamilton, and Sacred Heart Girls’ College, Hamilton.
We came first in Junior Bible Reading, Debating, and the Quiz, to achieve an overall 2nd placing.
Thanks to Ms Morris and Ms Collie for taking the team to Gisborne. And thanks to many members of staff for their coaching skills in preparation for debating, impromptu speech, Bible reading, Māori perspective speech, senior Oratory, poetry, junior prepared speeches, Quiz and Drama performances.
